According to Mr Chang, this is a very “luck-depending” process because the sources of sunlight could not substitute with technology.
Whenever there is no sunlight, they would not pick the nutmeg as it would be rotten without sunlight exposure.

Flower of nutmeg. It can be produced to be Nutmeg Oil and functioning in healing headaches or dizzy. It has very high Chinese medical values.

Indeed, a very information visit to Ghee Hup Nutmeg Factory located at Balik Pulau, Penang.

Mr Chang Kun Min, owner of the factory for more than 50 years, was spending almost 35 minutes sharing with us the usage of different part of nutmeg. Other than being as fruits or nutmeg drinks, no matter which parts of the nutmeg, fruit, seed or flower, have it’s own value in medical, cooking or make up industry. Never think of that huh?! It sounds like a hundred usage!

Although Mr Chang is illiterate, he even speak more polite and humble even though he has lot years of experience in this industry. By answering all of your doubts, serving you cold nutmeg drinks (Yup it is FOC and drink as u like!) and share his knowledge to you, it is my 3rd time been here and he is still standing at the front-line, serving customer and introducing this little fruits to all locals and foreigners.
